This course prepares students to work in the medical field and assist physicians in clinical and administrative capacities. Graduates will gain the skills to:
- Prepare patients for examinations.
- Assist with treatments, routine laboratory procedures, and medication administration.
- Perform phlebotomy, 12-lead EKGs, and administer injections.
- Chart patient information according to legal medical standards.
Upon completion, students will be ready to sit for the NHA Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) exam and can participate in an optional volunteer externship to gain real-world experience.
